KL police chief Zulkifli Abdullah warns of ‘irresponsible parties’ out to spoil the good name of the force.
The Kuala Lumpur police chief today warned all officers and men in the force to be wary of cyber threats from “irresponsible parties” out to tarnish the force’s good name.Speaking at the monthly meeting of the Kuala Lumpur contingent at its headquarters in the federal capital, Zulkifli Abdullah said police personnel should therefore be mindful of what they post online.
“(You) are advised to be more careful, and not to negatively impact the team. Irresponsible parties often use this medium (the Internet) to manipulate issues that affect the public peace and safety.
“Religious issues, trespass of places of worship, deaths in custody and many more issues are manipulated and cause unease, leading to diminishing faith in the government and police force,” Zulkifli said.
The force cannot allow such “cyber threats” to affect its efforts to make Kuala Lumpur the safest capital city in the world.

Ala, why complain about the internet tarnishing the image of the police force when the police force is capable of doing that job so finely all on their own!?
It’s amazing that we have such a person heading a police force! How stupid does he think the rakyat are?
If he is worried about their image, then he better start doing his job! Sex videos are being screened, promoters of the sex videos are still walking scott free, and he wonders why people are bad-mouthing the police force and questioning their credibility?
And in the days leading up to the last Sarawak elections, the strong presence of the police force was used to intimidate opposition candidates and the rakyat. The police force are seen as pawns to the powerful in government, and most certainly not transparent or independent!
Talk about barking up the wrong tree and blaming the internet!
