Holy war on corruption

NILAI, April 27 (Bernama) — A holy war on corruption.

This was what Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had in mind when he announced today that a’Holy War against Corruption’ action plan would be implemented soon.

He had started such a war in 1996 but in a different capacity and now having the full powers of a minister, Zahid intends to revisit the fight against corruption among civil servants through the Islamic approach.

“With the Anti-Corruption Commission to be put in place soon, we through the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) and Malaysian Islamic Missionary Foundation Malaysia (Yadim) will launch a holy war against corruption from the grassroots,” he told reporters at the launch of the ‘Eastern Show Village’ in Bandar Enstek here Sunday.

Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi can’t have had much impact because this is the first I have heard of the “holy war” against corruption which he started back in 1996.

How about he continue with that war right in his own back yard - the Prime Minister’s department?

I don’t know about you but I won’t believe the government is serious about dealing with corruption if all we will hear and see are small fish being charged with corruption. Unless and until I see some high profile figures charged with corruption, this “holy war” against corruption will only be a smoke screen to appease the rakyat.

I, for one, will not be appeased.

The PM, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi or any BN clowns can declare `The Mother of all War on Corruption’ in this country.

When the core itself is corrupted and soaked for 50 years with this heinous act, how are you going to eradicate it?

Remember, all above wars to wipe out corruption was for political mileage only. Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has just started this war and and has not even fired a shot yet. Lets see how he wins the war he started. It’s cakap saja kot!

You are so right. Nobody believes that the BN is serious about fighting corruption when the leaders are the beneficiaries of their corrupt ways!

Guess what! Today the Star published a story on the police reports made by two corrupted police men from the same corrupted police station (Gemas). The row was over the unhappiness and unfair distribution of monthly bribes collected from the illegal operators.

Firstly, The PM and Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has to bury their own face in their own A@#! Their holy war on corruption is a shame to their administration, governance, transparency and most importantly their honor. What a shame to to the uniform the law enforcers are wearing! The word `monthly` denotes that this sinful activity has been going on monthly. Now it proves why the crime rate and illegal activities has been on the rise.

Another `First in the World’ Award for this country! This award is for Police man makes Police report against superiors for unfair distribution of monthly bribes! Semua-nya OK
    in Bolehland.

What the %!@*$! Are you surprised? I’m not, since since its a well known secret that the policemen lined their pockets with bribe money.

As for protection of whistle blowers, I don’t see that happening in Malaysia, not for a long while, anyway.

The follow-up ops has netted Immigration Department deputy director-general Yusof Abu Bakar and a close relative as well.

The only option is to provide special powers, funds and the most qualified people irrespective of race, color, religion to investigate and prosecute the filth, corrupt and devils in disguise. They are to be empowered with authority to apprehend the vermin s irrespective even if it is the Chief Executive. This authority must be direct from the Royal Palace.(Not Palace of Justice).

It is worth setting up a special court in each state capital with highly knowledgeable public prosecutors. As the present civil courts are clogged and a question mark, these special courts are free to try and punish these enemies of the society. Not only the culprits(irrespective of what high position they hold) but also their kin involved needs to be tried without delay. Please do not forget the other party involved in inducing the bribe or wrong doing who needs to be treated same as the taker.

Whistle blowers identity strictly needs to be protected and their evidence to be heard in the presence of the judge and the prosecutors only.

Then we may hope for this country.
